For the past 25 years, a process of rewriting the 2000-year-old story of Mariam the Magdalene has taken place. The result has been the publication of multiple books on this extraordinary human being, transforming her historical reputation as a prostitute to being Yeshua’s closest disciple to being his most beloved partner in marriage and ministry, whom he, as quoted in the Gospel of Phillip, “often kissed on the mouth”.
“And Yeshua said:
‘I and my bride are One,
just as Mariam the Magdalene,
whom I have chosen and sanctified to myself as an example
is one with me.’”
(The Gospel of the Nazarenes)
In 2016, Pope Francis recognized Mariam the Magdalene with the title Apostle of the Apostles as a messenger and ambassador to the gospel.
On the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Israel, the catholic church has built a large center in Magdala, which includes an atrium with eight pillars that commemorate Mariam the Magdalene and six other woman who were close followers of Yeshua. The eighth pillar stands in honour of all woman of faith across all time.
But even today, Mariam the Magdalene is still not fully liberated from the old dogma that for so long has been a weight carried by her sisters in consciousness all over the world. A dogma, that had led to a multitude of traumas in both women and men, as it has deeply instigated and anchored the concept of ‘The Virgin and the Whore’, as a supposedly essential aspect of femininity and womanhood.
When we consider everything that has been written about Yeshua and Mariam the Magdalene in the New Testament and the Gnostic Gospels, it becomes clear that much more needs to be added to the official story about them.
Who were they really? What kind of relationship did they share? Is there evidence of their marriage? What was their real purpose? What was their role in anchoring the sacred masculine and the sacred feminine principles in the worldly frequencies?
This and much more will be revealed at the upcoming talk and gathering.
