Kære ukendte ven

Det følgende er ikke noget, jeg på nogen måde synes er særlig sjovt at skulle beskæftige mig med, fordi det også er en stikpille til min egen samvittigfhed. På den anden side er jeg nødt til, endnu engang, at reagere.

I sidste uge offentliggjorde FN en rapport, som fortæller, at vi i 2030 ikke mere vil have adgang til rent drikkevand på Jorden. Det er om 15 år. Rapporten advarer samtidig om, at hvis vi IKKE gør noget NU, vil konsekvenserne være uoverskuelige. Rapporten anfører det industrielle landbrug som en af hovedsynderne, mens luftfart, unødig transport af varer fra en verdensdel til den anden, forurening fra kemikalieindsutrien, samt tredieverdens industriernes manglende miljøhensyn, er andre alvorlige årsager til drikkevandets horrible kvalitet.

I de seneste par dage har jeg, når jeg var på vej ud til foredrag,på radioen i bilen hørt diverse politikere ‘varme op’ til det næste folketingsvalg. Alle er optaget af økonomiske bundlinjer, arbejdsladser, flygtininge etc., men ikke én eneste politiker har udtalt sig om for eksempel drikkevand og forurening.

Hvad skal vi stille op med flere arbejdspladser, hvis der ikke er rent drikkevand?

Man skulle tro, at der var en næsten uendelige række af arbejdspladser i at rydde op efter alt det svineri, vi har efterladt os overalt.

Og så er der, meget snart, brug for nye drikkevandsteknologier, som tager hensyn til vandets sande kvalitet, og ikke bare pumper det med kemikalier, så det bliver nogenlunde drikbart. Drikkevand, og vand i det hele taget skal være levende og vitalt. Det ligger der en kæmpe innovativ udfordring i at udvikle. Danske politikere bryster sig jo gerne med, at vi i Danmark skal være foregangsland i miljørigtige løsninger på verdens problemer. Hvis der er bid i sådanne visioner, så skal vi til at i gang. Og det i den helt store stil.

Drikkvand på flasker er i høj grad med til at forurene. Tænk, at der bare til fremstillingen af én plast-flaske forbruges 3 liter olie. Og hvad skal vi med flaskevand, der er transporteret helt fra Spanien herop? Hensynet til varernes frie bevægelighed er en af hovedsynderne bag den massive forurening. Tænk, hvis man kunne købe økologiske madvarer, der var fremstillet i lokalområdet?

Plast er i det hele taget gået hen og blevet et unødvendigt onde. Mange plejeprodukter såsom shampoo, sæbe og sminke, samt syntestisk tøj, er fyldt med mikroplast. Og kan med god grund spørge, hvad pokker det laver der?

Tit og ofte undrer det mig, når jeg køber ind, at det er de sunde varer, der skal mærkes, og ikke de sundhedsskadelige. Det burde være sådan, at det tydeligt fremgik af en varerbeskrivelse, hvis en varer indholder pesticiderester eller sundhedsskadelige fyldstoffer. At man kan gemme alt dette bag en uendelig række af E-numre, er bare for langt ude. Når man køber en pakke cigaretter, står der højt og tydeligt skrevet på pakken, at man kan dø af at ryge indholdet. Det samme burde være tilfældet med alle de madvarer, der tilsammen udgør den største sundhedsmæssige og miljømæssige risiko.

Og tænk, hvis svineproducenterne i Danmark, ville nøjes med at producerer svin til danskerne. Altså økologisk kød. Det ville koste noget mere at købe, men både miljø, forbruger og producent vil, i det lange løb, blive de helt store vindere. Hvis politikere, banker og branceorganisationer ville være med til at gøre en sådan overgang mulig, tror jeg at Danmark vil have en reel fremtid. Ikke alene som et sted, hvor man vil være i stand til at trække vejret og have adgang til rent drikkevand i fremtiden, men også som et sandt foregangsland for andre. En fremtid med uendeligt mange og RIGTIGE arbejdspladser med mening i.

Jette Rosenkvist har sendt mig vedlagte fotos, som hun har taget under en vandretur fornylig i Sønderjylland. Når man ikke bor på landet, slipper man for den slags konfrontationer med virkeligheden, men vi, der bor her, ser jo lidt af hvert.

Vi kan selv gøre en forskel i den måde vi køber ind på. Og så må vi forsøge at råbe politikerne op, eller simpelthen aflevere stemmesedlen uden et kryds på, hvis der ikke er nogen at stemme på.

How do I protect your information?
